The Giant Shinning
So far the winter has been relatively good, that is, no severe climate that should leave people into a shinning distress like Jack Torrence in a Stephen King’s novel. Nonetheless, other than some inconveniencies of not being able to do all that I normally would do in the summer, I find myself compelled to stay active outdoors–despite the frigid conditions outside. Call it a desire, an urge, a calling, a force, a higher being using me for His will, an obsessive-compulsiveness, an uncontrollable neuron, a lack of self-control, an human nature, or perhaps due to sheer boredom from staying in, I ultimately find myself needing to go outside against all possible odds. But not being able to commute to work on my bike has almost completely changed my life for now. Thankfully, I have found many many many other avenues to get around town. Being outside, I feel refreshed. Here’s my mechanical alter-ego. My Giant.
